A word fitly spoken

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.
(Proverbs 25 v 11)

Not a proverb you hear quoted very often but one of my favorites nevertheless. Just think of the immeasurable value of the word of wisdom, sympathy, empathy or encouragement spoken at just the right time.

Contrast this with the destructive power of a careless word or misplaced advice.

Has someone spoken an apple of gold word to you recently?
Can you see an opportunity to place one in someone else’s life?

About Rosalie Squires

'Who am I?' is a question whose answer keeps evolving, that can be answered in many, many ways; that has no known answer at all. But there are some clues to be found: stocksharpsquires.wordpress.

I not a bible reader, but this is a beautiful sentiment. thanks for sharing!

  2. I sometimes think it a shame that the Bible is often negatively, associated with ‘religion’. I prefer to think of it as a book about life – in all its forms, the good, the bad and the ugly. There is much to learn there.
