Computer’s up and running again – well running, maybe not up. What do you think from the picture?
We have an electronics engineer in the family who came and performed emergency surgery with a soldering iron but warned that putting the works back in the box while the cooling fan is so unreliable would just lead to more overheating and blown components.
Actually, he also said we should get a new computer.
But hey! It’s working!
So now I’ll go back and carry on with Friday’s post.
What expectations or hopes do you have for the new week?

That should help it stay cool, but I think that maybe… just maybe, now… you should try to upgrade.
I think you’re probably right – it’s not the first time this particular component’s had to be replaced and the RAM is insufficient; swap between activities and it churns for ages reading stuff to and fro the hard drive. Oh, and it’s running off a ‘temporary’ external power supply from a previous emergency fix.
I vote new computer too 😉
I have cellotape holding my casing together right now just hoping it holds on till payday when I can buy new one lol have set an egg timer to turn it off after an hour to stop it over heating as my fan is not working at all now lol
