The purpose of today

“The purpose of this day is to
who we are
and what we are called to be

The purpose of this day is to
find the joy
we were born to know
the person we were born to be”

Sr Stanislaus Kennedy (Sister Stan)

I’m a great fan of Sister Stan’s reflections and this one resonates with me even more than most. It incorporates some of my favourite themes, living in ‘the now’; savouring each day as it comes.  Finding joy. Discovering who we really are.

At the end of the day, will we remember to ask ourselves, did I use today for its proper purpose?

About Rosalie Squires

'Who am I?' is a question whose answer keeps evolving, that can be answered in many, many ways; that has no known answer at all. But there are some clues to be found: stocksharpsquires.wordpress.

  1. Wise words, indeed. If we could all live like this – or as close as possible – we would probably all be a lot happier.
