Melting snow

It melts so slowly
Occasional drips falling
Water on the ice

It looks so pretty as it falls and as it lies untrampled on the ground. It seems a shame it must melt away. But once it’s been trodden, driven over, made dirty and icy, then can’t it just disappear more quickly?

  1. It IS beautiful when it’s brand new, still clean and pure and sparkling. Like the human spirit?

    • That’s really a thought, Tim.
      There’s certainly something about our life that gets dirty and trodden on. I think it wants cleansing and refreshing rather than being melted away too quickly, though.
