Melting snow

It melts so slowly
Occasional drips falling
Water on the ice

It looks so pretty as it falls and as it lies untrampled on the ground. It seems a shame it must melt away. But once it’s been trodden, driven over, made dirty and icy, then can’t it just disappear more quickly?
