Joy

Bit short on time recently so here’s a repeat from last year:

As I walked up the road
Joy welled in my heart
Unexpected
Unlooked for
I could have felt sad
My friends gave me cause
The weather made ample
Excuse for wet moping
Yet neither of these
Could compete with the joy
Welling and springing
Accepting, not competing
Joy embraced the sadness
Encompassed the moping
Joy is essentially
Different from feelings
Joy is a gift
Joy is of heaven
Internal
Eternal
Joy is proactive
Not dependent on circumstance
It can’t be held
Nor stored
But it can
Be
Shared
