Soul

I am the daughter of Mother Earth
My flesh is formed of her dust
She gave me birth; I am part of her
But how could she give me a soul?
The Earth is alive in a myriad ways
Yet knows not the life that I know
For I have a Father; ’tis His life I live
Creator, sustainer of all
When God touched the Earth
With the breath of His love
For me, was made my own soul.
